SHOPPING HAUL | Dollar Tree and Wet Seal

SHOPPING HAUL | Dollar Tree and Wet Seal

If you follow me on Facebook then you may know that I posted this deal early last week. Wet Seal was having this amazing sale. Everything in that photo cost a total of $44 and some change. 2 dresses, 1 shirt and 2 pairs of shoes. I couldn’t pass up the deals. That’s the good news. The bad news is that was their store closing sale. I checked – they’re no longer in business.

I made a trip to the Dollar Store. I lied to myself and said that I was going in there to buy a new microwave plate but I knew the truth. I was going in there to buy the supplies that I need it for all of my dollar store crafts that I’ve been collecting in my mind for the past few months. The store trip that was going to cost me one dollar wound up costing me $24. I got a slew of stuff:

1 Microwave Plate Cover – keeps the messes in the microwave to a minimum

2 bags of multi color marbles – for a 3 tier organizer

1 floral wire

1 floral tape

1 lipstick lop gloss duo

4 display easels – for my homemade coasters

3 candles sticks – for a 3 tier organizer

1 Swiffer mopper

Here I got:

2 moss sheets

3 stems artificial flowers – I think I’m gonna exchange them For some white flowers

1 pie pan – for a 3 tier organizer

Wire cutters

3 plates – for a 3 tier organizer

1 bowl – for a 3 tier organizer

I was picking up some stuff I needed for some crafts I did. Some of them turned out really nice. Lemme know in the comments if you want me to show them to you.

*NEW* Avocado Printable Coupon

*NEW* Avocado Printable Coupon

So get this, yesterday I was saying to one of my girlfriends that we need that Buy One Get One Free Avocado coupon to come back. Then lo and behold the next day an avocado coupon shows up?! Listen, I don’t wanna jump to any wild conclusions but I’m pretty sure I have a direct line to the all powerful… just sayin’. To test that theory today I’m gonna say to my coworkers that we could use a raise. Wish me luck! Moving on, it wasn’t the Buy One Get One Free but we got $0.75 off two Avocados from Mexico. Coupons for fruits and vegetables are few and far between so be sure and print this one TWICE before it’s gone! This coupon will be a great doubler at Giant Eagle and Save-A-Lot. It’s not often that we get produce printable coupons so grab your deals soon! Just look at the produce sticker on it and it’ll say the country of origin.

Recently they’ve been running about $1.00 per avocado. If that’s still the case then here’s how the deal would look:

REMEMBER: That’s just a hypothetical scenario. Now get to printing!!

What Does Your Handwriting Say About You?

What Does Your Handwriting Say About You?

I am always trying new things and learning new things. I have an extensive amount of interests. Handwriting is one of them. As a child I wrote and wrote all of the time. I just liked doing it. Even back then I was addicted to pens and journals and the like. To this day, I put my name on my pens or keep a private stash because I only like “certain” pens. And to top it off, I generally write in cursive (even though they stopped teaching it for some crazy reason).

I came across this infographic about things you can tell about someone from their handwriting so I decided to give it a try. You should too! Post your results in the comments if you’d like.

What Does Your Handwriting Say About You?

Phew! That seems like a bunch of criteria but it didn’t take me too long to go through it. Now here’s some samples of my handwriting from May 19, 2016 to February 17, 2017. As you can see, my handwriting never changes. It has been this way since the beginning. Interestingly enough, my handwriting is quite similar to my birth mom’s. Anywho, here’s how what you’d learn from my handwriting.

LETTER SIZE: AVERAGE – You are well-adjusted and adaptable. TRUE

SPACING BETWEEN WORDS: NARROW – You can’t stand to be alone and tend to crowd people & be intrusive. FALSE

LETTERS SLANTING: RIGHT – You are open to new experiences & enjoy meeting new people. TRUE

LETTER SHAPE: ROUNDED – You are creative & artistic. TRUE

LETTER SHAPE: CONNECTED – You are logical, systematic & make decisions carefully. TRUE

LOOPING: NARROW L – You may be restricting yourself, which could lead to feelings of tension. TRUE

DOTTING YOUR I’s: HIGH – You have a great imagination. TRUE

CROSSING YOUR T’s: MIDDLE – You are confident & feel comfortable in your skin. TRUE

OPEN & CLOSED O’s: CLOSED –  You are very private, limited to sharing your personal feelings, introvert. TRUE

LOWERCASE CURSIVE S: POINTY – You are inquisitive & ambitious. TRUE

PAGE MARGINS: LEFT – You tend to live in the past & have a hard time letting go of things. TRUE

PRESSURE: LIGHT – You are sensitive and show and empathy to people, but you also have lack of vitality. TRUE

SPEED: QUICK – You are impatient, dislike delays or time wasters. TRUE

SIGNATURE: LEGIBLE – You are confident & comfortable in your own skin; you don’t need to pretend you’re something you’re not. TRUE

CAPITAL LETTER I: SMALLER – You tend to be happy with yourself. TRUE

Those are my results as I see them. Well that was fun IMO. I think the assessment is very accurate. The only thing I didn’t agree with was about me not liking being alone and being intrusive. I’m the complete opposite of that.

How did your results turn out?

EASY Valentine’s Day Strawberry Treats

EASY Valentine’s Day Strawberry Treats

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner most stores have their strawberries on sale. One deal that caught my eye was Giant Eagle will have their 1lb packages on sale Buy One Get One Free. But Aldi will have their 16oz. packages on sale for $1.49!! You know what that means? They’re affordable and perfect for foodie gift giving. Below are several ideas I found that I thought were cute and easy.

Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Pops

I thought these looked great. Plus, if you’re like me and have a few bags of chocolate chips left over from the holidays then this idea comes in at EXTREMELY affordable.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Hearts

I tried a simpler version of these a year or two ago and I was not successful. I left out the Nutella because I don’t like Nutella. There! I said it. Don’t get me wrong. They still tasted great but they were an ugly hot mess. They looked nothing like hearts by the time I was done but I’d be willing to give it another try even though this is a bit time consuming.

Nutella Deviled Strawberries

Even though Nutella ain’t my jam I know plenty of people who love it including my mom. And I can’t be positive but if I were into Nutella I think this would be a quick, easy, delicious way to go.

Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries

I LOVE CHEESECAKE. It’s right up there with ice cream cake. I mean, luuuuuuuv me some cheesecake. So much so that I’ve even perfected the crockpot version. This recipe is much easier though. Even calls for less ingredients but I bet it tastes amazing still.

Strawberries Filled with Whipped Cream Over a Bed of Chocolate

I love the sound of is but to be honest, ain’t nobody got time for making homemade whipped cream. That’s too many dirty dishes. So I’m thinking regular or Reddi Whip should be good too. That aside, I think this recipe looks easy, delicious and classy.

HURRY! Double Stack on Milk & Bread – SAVE $1.25 on Milk and $1.25 on Bread

HURRY! Double Stack on Milk & Bread – SAVE $1.25 on Milk and $1.25 on Bread

There’s a new app out called Snap by Groupon. It works much like iBotta, Checkout 51 and Shopmium. You go to the grocery store and you purchase the items you’ve saved to your list. When you get home you upload the receipt and then once reviewed you get cashback. It’s free! You can download it here. Right now many folks are getting these two great cash back offers on milk and bread.

The iBotta app is also offering cash back on milk and bread!

New Year’s 2017

New Year’s 2017

I trust that everyone had a great New Year’s Eve. Mine was very low key. It was just me and my guys – Tim, Todd and Dawson. Todd’s new girlfriend came later in the evening but she missed most of the day with us.

So my day started with this. I opened the fridge to start getting things ready – leave it to the guys to fill the fridge with beer. I had no more room to store food. Silly boys! It took some convincing but I got them to make some space for food. Luckily I had a ton of food with me that I used as a bargaining chip.

For apps I didn’t get too fancy. I did a veggie tray and cheese tray. Todd picked up a meat tray. Not surprisingly, the only thing left at the end of the night was part of the veggie tray. I knew they wouldn’t eat much of it but I needed veggies. I couldn’t sit there drinking beer and eating meat all day.

I also made sausage rotel dip. It’s a recipe I got from a girlfriend back when I lived in Lakewood. This was the first time I made it for them They loved it. They loved it so much that I was told that from here on out I am to make that for every get together.

This was the first time Harley (Boston terrier) got to meet Dawson and to say that he liked him would be an understatement! Harley humped Dawson off and on for the better part of an hour. We thought it was hilarious.

We watched 3 football games I think. One of which was that absolutely abysmal OSU-Clemson game. I know they can’t win every one but at least score a dang point. Whew! That was hard to watch. In fact, that’s when we busted out the Cranium game.

Todd requested the bacon wrapped water chestnuts. I know I like everything bacon but this app is a bit too much for me. The water chestnuts are soaked overnight in soy sauce. It’s just too dang salty for me but the guys loved it.

And finally, for desert I made this amaze balls No Bake Oreo pie. I had one slice that I shared with the guys and they confiscated the rest. I’ve been given permission to make that again as well.

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve. I know we did.
