I think we all can agree that food recalls are serious business. It’s hard to believe that before the internet I didn’t even know they existed.
It seems to me that there has been an increasing number of recalls lately. It could be hard to keep up with them all on your own. Thank goodness there’s a website that conveniently lists them for us. Www.foodsafety.gov
FoodSafety.gov is the gateway to food safety information provided by government agencies.
[To] better communicate information to the public and include an improved individual alert system allowing consumers to receive food safety information, such as notification of recalls. Agencies will also use social media to expand public communication.
You can even find information on how to keep food safely and about food poisoning. Very helpful information.
Another great resource comes from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. They offer more than just food recalls and outbreaks. See links for each section below:
- Medical Devices
- Radiation-Emitting Products
- Vaccines, Blood & Biologics
- Animal & Veterinary
- Tobacco Products
